Position Overview:
The Automated Systems Specialist is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the automated systems used in air traffic control operations. The specialist will work closely with the ATC team to ensure the seamless functioning of automated systems, contributing to the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within controlled airspace.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, configure, and maintain automated systems utilized in air traffic control operations.
2. Perform routine inspections, upgrades, and repairs to ensure optimal functionality and reliability of automated systems.
3. Collaborate with the ATC team to identify and address any issues or malfunctions in the automated systems promptly.
4. Conduct regular system testing, performance evaluations, and data analysis to identify areas for improvement.
5. Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures to minimize system downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to ATC personnel regarding the proper utilization and troubleshooting of automated systems.
7. Stay updated with industry advancements and technological developments in air traffic control automated systems, recommending necessary upgrades or system enhancements.
8. Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to coordinate system upgrades, patches, and installations.
9. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
10. Adhere to relevant safety protocols, regulations, and compliance standards while working with automated systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automated systems, preferably in an air traffic control or aviation environment.
3. Strong knowledge of air traffic control concepts, procedures, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining automated systems, including hardware and software components.
5. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to promptly identify and resolve system malfunctions.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, ensuring minimal disruption to air traffic control operations.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with ATC personnel, vendors, and stakeholders.
